W H A T: Each day of camp will include instruction about the elements and principles of design, inspecting examples of art, and experimenting with multiple hands-on projects. Each session will be a mix of group instruction, guided exploration, and projects for individual exploration. Some previous projects are shown in pictures on this website, but actual camp projects will vary depending on availability of supplies.
W H E R E: Located in the Paramount subdivision in Meridian, Idaho (near Chinden and Meridian Road). Camps will be held in my shaded backyard. Should there be poor weather conditions, camp will be moved indoors for that day. Physical address for the camp will be provided after registration.
W H E N: Three art camps are offered for the summer of 2022.
S E S S I O N # 1: June 20-23; 9:00AM – 12:00PM
S E S S I O N # 2: July 18-21; 9:00AM – 12:00PM
S E S S I O N # 3: August 1-4; 9:00AM – 12:00PM
W H O: In order to offer more individualized instruction, the maximum class size is 10 students per session. For summer 2022, the minimum age for art camp students is 8 years old. Planned art projects may be too challenging for students under 8 years old, and may be less interesting to students over 12 years old. Feel free to contact me about student specific concerns.
F O O D: A couple snack options and a water bottle will be provided for each student each day of camp. While the snacks will be nut-free, I cannot accommodate all food allergies at this time. Students are welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks.
A T T I R E: Students should wear clothing and shoes that are both weather-appropriate and comfortable, which will not be missed if they get stained/ruined. The creative process is more fun when students don’t have to stress about keeping their clothes clean. Latex-free disposable gloves are provided for most projects. Having hair tied/pulled back away from face is recommended.
